DARK PAINTINGS
Dark Paintings brings together several photographic series that explore the relationships between darkness, matter, perception, and the forms of light it conceals.
Through images dominated by dark tones, this exploration focuses on what lies just beneath the surface of the visible: a vibration, a presence, a texture, a flash of light.
Blending mystery, contemplation, and a quest for beauty, these images suggest rather than assert, allowing the viewer’s gaze to wander freely among the forms, textures, and nuances.
Light appears in fragments, revealing the sensuality of the material and the richness of contrasts. Shadows, transparencies, and depths compose silent atmospheres, akin to dreams or memories.
Through their aesthetic, these series engage in a dialogue with the world of painting. The boundaries between photography, pictorial matter, and abstraction blur, giving way to a sensory experience of texture.
SHADES OF BLACK
Images rich in dark tones serve as emotional and deeply psychological metaphors. Sometimes oppressive, these enigmatic, elusive places evoke feelings of fear, loneliness, chaos, emptiness - another dimension devoid of light or bright tones. They speak of an inner world where visual poetry awakens curiosity and the desire to know what lies ahead..
By combining, superimposing and transposing darkness, by removing the context of the subjects, the artist gives clues to reveal what is beyond reality and presents photographic spaces filled with metaphysical abstractions. In a way, the photos communicate ideas about how the indefinite point of view can merge into a dreamlike reality of psychological environments..
The images evoke ideas around optics, perception and imagination, a kind of kaleidoscopic atmosphere of light and dark full of drama, blurring the boundary between photography, surrealist compositions and poetic design.
These photographs seek to capture the magic that light and shadow can communicate. Black and white speak to the mystery of organic structure emerging from chaos, particularly dark darkness, and are used like an alchemical tool to transmute what the artist sees into what he would like others to see, as if the viewer's perspective shifted in the reality he saw in the photos.
ECHO OF FORMS
Matter dissolves and is reborn in an ethereal movement, a silent dance between light and shadow. Contours blur into a sensual abstraction, the skin composes a landscape and the gesture a fleeting vibration.
These fragments seem to summon the intimacy of a touch, the memory of a caress, the echo of shapes or the momentum of a breath.
Plunged into shades of gray, they convey a poetry of the unspeakable, an invitation to see beyond the visible, to feel the imprint of emotions, to lose oneself in the subtle space between presence and disappearance.
These works are part of an infinite quest for dialogue between body and soul, an inner journey where sensuality becomes language, a vital energy that links the human to the infinite.
PRO FUNDUS
Pro Fundus, literally ‘towards the depths’, is a photographic series that intensely explores the invisible layers of matter and perception. A universe that is both mysterious and immersive
Contrasts unfold in a subtle dialogue, interwoven with pastel hues that blend into a single panoramic shot.
These visual fragments, abstract yet evocative, reveal subtle worlds where light sculpts forms, whilst shadows suggest the elusive. An attempt to touch upon the essence of the depths, that which eludes us yet which we sense.
The images capture the viewer’s gaze and open up a space for reflection on how art can transcend the visible. They form part of a contemporary exploration, driven by a distinctive visual style and a unique aesthetic language.
Pro Fundus does not impose a single interpretation. The series questions perception and subjectivity in the face of the unknown, and creates an autonomous atmosphere in which the sensitivity of the moment and the richness of interpretations are expressed.
FRAGMENTS D'OMBRES
